Advise caller to:

  • Make sure that the scene is safe, ensuring that other motorists can see the scene, e.g. Placing hazards on.
  • Switch off the ignition of any damaged vehicle
  • Ask a bystander to set up warning triangles in both directions, advice the person to watch for other vehicles while he / she is doing this.
  • Watch out for any dangers such as traffic; make sure that no one smokes anywhere near the accident.
