• Encourage victim to
• Lean toward the injured side
• Cover the wound with the palm of the victim’s hand
• Cover the wound with a plastic bag or foil paper
• Ensure that you secure the plastic bag or foil paper dressing firmly with adhesive tape on all four sides but leave one lower corner untapped
• Stay with the victim and reassure him / her that help is coming
• If the victim is unconscious, assess for normal breathing and pulse.
• If absent, begin Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with chest compressions
